To whom it may concern:

While we were blessed with perfect weather for the fast Inishowen Summer Gathering last year, there was another memorable quality about the event which was not dependent on the weather. This quality was an inclusiveness, a friendliness that included information, physical help for those who needed it and a sort of laid-back informality.

All of the above - as well as huge planning and foresight, which brought into being some fine examples of ecological practices such as the remarkable straw-bale theatre, the wind-generated lighting for same, the compost toilets. not to mention the delightful, curving bender which housed the reception and information areas - greatly enhanced the experiences of the workshop leaders, the traders and, especially, the many visitors.

The choice of site was as dose to perfect as it could possibly be in Donegal. The natural, chemical free quality of the sward, which included many wildflowers, some of them comparatively rare, as well as the sheltered beaches, provided a perfect basis for such a Gathering.

Publicity was good, too, because there was a huge crowd, particularly on the second day, to the benefit of both workshop leaders and traders.

I hope I shall be invited to bring my stall - LIVING EARTH APOTHECARY - to future Summer Gatherings.

Dear Inishowen Summer Gathering

This is just a quick note to thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend this years gathering again.

We thoroughly enjoyed last year’s event as it provided us with some invaluable contacts.  When we were finally able to take a breather in the afternoon after the crowds of people had died down we attended some of the discussions on alternative energy which we found both interesting and informative as it is a subject which is close to home for us.
